چکیده

Semi-crystalline oligomers are explored as functionalized thermoswitchable coatings for modification of biomaterials surface. Highly crystalline oligo(ε-caprolactone) (OCL) films prepared at the air–water interface by Langmuir technique, which consist tightly packed single crystals. Their morphology and melting temperature can be tuned chemical structure OCL end-groups (hydroxy or methacrylate) crystallization (12 21 °C) physical parameter. This demand high crystallite density adjustable is not met conventional methodologies preparing thin films, e.g., spin coating, spray solvent evaporation. The crystallinity reduces enzymatic degradation rate on both water solid surfaces. methacrylate crystal surfaces enables post-functionalization, was demonstrated using fluorescein dimethacrylate chemically linked label. thermoswitching behavior (melting recrystallization) functionalized, highly shows temperature-dependent distribution moieties, accumulated crystals, homogeneously dispersed when crystals molten. Crystalline polymer ultrathin films from mesoscopic precursors.

Thin and ultrathin crystalline polymer films are of funda mental scientific as well as practical interest concerning their structures and properties. 6] For the preparation of ultrathin ( 0.1 mm) films the polymer is applied to the substrate in a non ordered state, usually as a dilute solution in an organic solvent. To overcome the intra and intermolecular interac tions responsible for crystall...

Conducting polymer-based multilayer films for instructive biomaterial coatings

AIM To demonstrate the design, fabrication and testing of conformable conducting biomaterials that encourage cell alignment. MATERIALS & METHODS Thin conducting composite biomaterials based on multilayer films of poly(3.4-ethylenedioxythiophene) derivatives, chitosan and gelatin were prepared in a layer-by-layer fashion. Fibroblasts were observed with fluorescence microscopy and their alignme...

Thermally stable antireflective coatings based on nanoporous organosilicate thin films.

Thermally stable nanoporous organosilicate thin films were realized by the microphase separation of pore-generating polymers mixed with an organosilicate matrix to be antireflective coatings (ARCs), for which a thin film with a refractive index (n) of 1.23 for zero reflection is required. The refractive index of such nanoporous organosilicate films can be tuned from 1.39 down to 1.23 by incorpo...

Polymer Based Antimicrobial Coatings as Potential Biomaterial : A Review

Antimicrobial polymers are class of polymers with antimicrobial activity. The control of microbial infection is a very important issue in modern society. Increasing hygiene standards and the threat of infectious disease demand materials with surfaces that inhibit the survival and proliferation of microbes. The antimicrobial polymers are produced by attaching or inserting an active antimicrobial...

Switchable surface structured hydrogel coatings.

Switchable surface structures based on hydrogels are an emerging field in material science, microfluidics, soft robotics and anti-fouling. Here, we describe a novel method that uses a photo-cross-linkable terpolymer to create a hydrogel coating with a switchable surface structure. The terpolymer is based on poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) and it is shown that simple coating technologies li...
